Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Kint.
By creating an account or using Kint, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be at least 18 years old. These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the changes.
Kint is a tool that helps people who already have an agreed lending arrangement document, sign, and track loans between themselves. Kint is NOT a licensed lender, bank, broker, credit reporting agency, escrow agent, debt collector, or financial institution. We do not originate, fund, service, collect, broker, or guarantee any loan, and we are NOT a party to any loan or promissory note created using the app. We do not move money — payments are made directly between the parties using their own payment methods.
Any promissory note or loan agreement created in Kint is solely between the borrower and the lender. The note templates and clauses we provide are for convenience only, are not tailored to your situation, and are NOT legal advice. We do not guarantee that any note is valid, enforceable, or compliant with the laws that apply to you. You are responsible for reviewing each agreement and, if needed, having it reviewed by your own attorney before you sign.
Kint operates electronically. By using the app, you consent to receive all records, disclosures, agreements, and promissory notes electronically, and you agree that your typed name and in-app actions are your electronic signature under the federal ESIGN Act and applicable state UETA. To access and retain these records you need a device with internet access, a current web browser or the Kint app, an email address or phone number, and the ability to view and save PDF files. You may request a paper copy of any signed note, or withdraw your consent to electronic records, by emailing legal@joinkint.com — but because Kint functions only electronically, withdrawing consent means you can no longer use the service. Keep your contact details current in Settings so we can deliver records to you.
Nothing in Kint — including the AI assistant — constitutes financial, legal, or tax advice. The AI provides informational responses only and may be inaccurate. Always consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.
You are responsible for ensuring that every loan you make or take complies with the laws that apply to you, including limits on interest rates (usury laws), lending-license and disclosure requirements, and tax obligations. You must provide accurate information, and must not use Kint for any illegal transaction, fraud, money laundering, or to harass or abuse anyone. You alone are responsible for the terms you agree to and for repaying or collecting amounts owed.
Some features require identity verification. We may collect and verify identity information (including a government ID) as described in our Privacy Policy. Verification helps reduce fraud but is NOT a guarantee of anyone's true identity, intentions, creditworthiness, or ability to repay. You remain responsible for deciding whom to transact with.
Kint helps document and track loans — it does not guarantee that any loan will be repaid. We are not responsible if a counterparty fails to pay, disputes a loan, or provides false information. Any dispute over loan terms or repayment is solely between the parties involved.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your one-time login codes with anyone. Notify us immediately at support@joinkint.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for fraudulent or illegal purposes. You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Signed loan records and their audit trail may be retained after termination as described in our Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kint is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service or any note will be error-free, uninterrupted, valid, or legally enforceable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kint and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits or amounts owed under a loan; and our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid us in the prior 12 months or US $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kint and its operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, the loans you make or take, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
Before bringing any formal claim against Kint, you agree to first contact us at legal@joinkint.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days. Disputes between a borrower and lender are not Kint's responsibility and must be resolved between those parties.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. (Note: an individual promissory note may specify its own governing law, which controls that note.)
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
