Kint ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Information you provide: your name, phone number, email address, optional profile photo, payment handles (e.g. Venmo, Cash App, Zelle), and the loan details you enter (amounts, interest, schedules, purpose, notes). Identity verification: for loans at or above $1,000, we collect identity information you submit — legal name, date of birth, address, government-ID type, the last four digits of that ID, and an image of the ID. This is sensitive personal information and is used only to verify your identity. Information we collect automatically: when you sign a promissory note, we record your IP address, device/browser information, and a precise timestamp as part of the signing audit trail. We also collect a push-notification token to send reminders.
We use your data to operate Kint — tracking loans between you and your counterparties, generating and signing promissory notes, verifying identity, sending reminders, and powering the AI assistant. The signing audit trail (identity, IP, device, timestamp, and a tamper-evident document hash) is created and kept as legal evidence of who agreed to a loan and when. We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.
Loan data is visible only to the two parties on that loan (lender and borrower). Your name and profile are visible to users you are in a loan relationship with. Government-ID information you submit for verification is not shown to counterparties — they only see whether you are verified. No other users can search for or view your profile.
We share limited data with providers that help us run Kint — including cloud hosting and database (to store your data), email/SMS delivery (to send one-time codes and reminders), and Anthropic's Claude API (for the AI assistant). These providers process data only to provide their service to us.
When you use Kint AI, your messages and loan context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Your data is not used to train Anthropic's models. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed through their API.
We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we promptly anonymise your profile data (name, phone, email, photo). Important exception: a signed promissory note and its signing audit trail are legal and financial records. Where a loan is still outstanding, or where retention is required to resolve disputes, comply with law, or preserve evidence, we retain those records (including the signature, identity, and audit-trail data) even after account deletion, for as long as legally necessary. Government-ID images submitted for verification are deleted once verification is decided, unless we are required to retain them.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to opt out of certain processing. You can export your data from Settings → Export My Data and delete your account from Settings → Delete Account (subject to the retention exception above). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not use passwords — authentication is via one-time codes sent to your email or phone. Access tokens expire and are automatically refreshed. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
Kint is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact privacy@joinkint.com and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
